Buenos Aires is the capital and largest city of Argentina, and the second largest metropolitan area in South America after Greater Sao Paulo. It is located on the western shore of the estuary of the Rio de la Plata, on the southeastern coast of the South American continent. Buenos Aires was often called the "Paris of South America". Argentina is best known for Tango, the national music and dance. The city also plays host to musical festivals, some of the largest of which are Quilmes Rock, Creamfields BA and the Buenos Aires Jazz Festival.
On arrival at Ezeiza airport, you’ll be received and transferred to the hotel. El Calafate is a city in Patagonia, Argentina. It is situated in the southern border of Lake Argentino, in the southwest part of the Santa Cruz Province, about 320 km Northwest of Rio Gallegos. Transfer to the Buenos Aires domestic airport with a guide. Fly to El Calafate. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to the hotel in El Calafate. El Calafate is an important tourist destination as the hub to visit different parts of the Los Glaciares National Park, including the Perito Moreno Glacier and the Cerro Chalten and Cerro Torre . Go on a full day tour (nine hour) of the Perito Moreno Glacier (cost included). The Perito Moreno Glacier rises majestically 80 km away from El Calafate. This is one of the largest and the only advancing glacier in the world, as well as the biggest attraction at Los Glaciares National Park, a 600,000-hectare protected area covered by an ice mantle. Start by penetrating the Patagonic Andean forest and make a first breathtaking stop at “Curva de los Suspiros” (Curve of Sighs), where you enjoy a first view of this incredible natural wonder. When you approach the glacier, you will walk down the wooden catwalks to approach the Glacier and admire from different panoramic points this wonderful creation of Mother Nature. We will be able to contemplate very closely when varied-sized ice blocks loosen and fall into the water with a great thunder becoming beautiful ice floes in the deep waters of the Lago Argentino. This day will be an unforgettable experience, a once in a lifetime delight.
Day at leisure or you can opt to go on a full day tour (eight hour) of Upsala Navigation (Todo glaciares) with a guide (cost included). At Los Glaciares National Park, land of the ice giants, silence prevails. This almost magical atmosphere is interrupted from time to time by the slow thawing happening at any corner of this impressive ice mass. We will sail out of Puerto Bandera, only 50 km away from El Calafate, and navigate the northern branch of Lago Argentino. Among enormous blue ice blocks floating adrift after falling off from Upsala Glacier, the second largest glacier in South America. Reach the front of the glacier. On our way back, admire Spegazzini glacier, amazing for its dimensions and outstanding beauty. Carrying a lunch box is suggested.
Ushuaia is now a major tourist town, complete with casinos and nice restaurants, and commonly used as a base for hiking, winter sports and cruises to Antarctica You’ll be transferred to Calafate airport. Fly to Ushuaia. On arrival, be transferred to the Hotel in Ushualia. Situated on the Beagle Strait, Ushuaia is the largest city in Argentina Tierra del Fuego, and arguably the southernmost city in the world. In the past, the town has been a missionary base, penal colony and naval base for the Argentine navy. Go on half day tour (four hour) of Tierra del Fuego National Park Tour (cost included). Only 12 km west from the southernmost city in the world, find Tierra del Fuego National Park, the only one in Ushuaia. Appreciate the varied local flora, including different types of trees, bushes, and flowers, and fauna, including both native and introduced animals, such as Andean foxes, beavers, rabbits, and over 90 bird species. In this half-day tour, visit Ensenada, Roca Lake, and Lapataia Bay, and walk short distances around the lake, beaver dams, and the bay itself, very close to the Chilean border.
Enjoy a half day tour (two and a half hour) of Beagle Channel Navigation with a guide on board (pier tax included) From Beagle Channel, Ushuaia and its surroundings offer a wonderful scene. Sail along the channel to enjoy the magnificent landscape that perfectly combines mountains, woods, and the sea. Observe mount Olivia and Cinco Hermanos, Túnel Ranch, until reaching Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, where you observe a small cormorant colony. On our way back, approach Isla de los Lobos (Sea Lion Island) to enjoy these curious sea mammals and Despard Island, natural environment of imperial cormorants.
After breakfast, be transferred to Ushuaia airport. Fly to Buenos Aires and check in to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Sit back and simply relax.
