Arrive in Colombo, you’ll be received by your guide/chauffeur and transferred by car from Colombo airport to Tea Trails. The drive through panoramic tea country to Ceylon Tea Trails is spectacular and you will reach in time for lunch.
Enjoy the complimentary Tea Experience with our resident Tea Planter Andrew Taylor, who will show you first hand the age-old tea making process in the tea fields and processing factory. The tour ends with a tasting of different grades of this great brew.
Optional-Trek or bike from one to the other in cool comfort, amidst breathtaking views of mountain ranges, lakes, winding roads & waterfalls. This is a pristine environment in which to cool off and reconnect with family and friends. May & June daytime temperatures hover around 24c/75f and at night 19c/65f, cool enough to relax in front of a roaring fire, digestif in hand, after a gourmet 4 course dinner.
You will be transferred to Colombo airport from Tea Trails via Kandy. Enjoy a private tour of this bustling city’s cultural sights & shopping secrets, prior to airport dropoff. Kandy, the ancient Hill Capital of Sri Lanka, is a World Heritage City referred as the home of the Dalada Maligawe or Temple of the Tooth, where a tooth of the Lord Buddha is preserved. Listen to fascinating stories from colonial times as you enjoy a tour of the British Garrison Cemetery. Walk through the Royal Botanical Gardens with over 300 varieties of orchids and spices. Visit the Temple of the Tooth and then enjoy a cup of Kandyan tea on the veranda at the Old Empire Hotel. The Kandy National Museum and the palace of Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, the last Kandyan King, are also included in the tour.
