On arrival in the Sri Lanka airport, you will be warmly greeted with garlands and transferred to the hotel in Negombo (Approx. 30 mins). On arrival in the hotel, you could spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Enjoy your day sightseeing at Negombo. The Negombo town offers an interesting introduction to coastal Sri Lankan life, with a lively pair of fish markets, a few colonial remains and hundreds of colourful wooden boats. The area is the heartland of Christian Sri Lanka. The people of Neombo are Karavas, tamil fishermen who converted to Catholicism during the mid-sixteenth century under the influence of the Portuguese. The Dutch made the town an important commercial centre, buding a canal and fort to guard it. You will be taken to see the ruins of the Dutch fort and St. Mary’s church which is famous for its wall paintings. You will also be taken to the fish market at the beach where you will see the wives of the fishermen having auctions to sell the beach.

After breakfast, you will be taken to Sigiriya (Approx. 5 hrs). En route, you will be visiting the Pinnawala elephant orphanage where you could watch the elephants being fed and bathed. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. On arrival in Sigiriya, check into the hotel. In the afternoon, you will be taken to Habarana (Approx. 45 mins). In Habarana you will be taken on a bullock cart to the end of a river from there, you will taken n a local catamaran boat to a village where you can have tea in a typical Sri Lankan village.

Today you will be taken to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (Approx. 2 hrs), which is one of the undisputed highlights of the cultural triangle and indeed the whole Island. Another important royal capital, more recent than Anuradhapura, with its well-preserved 12th century ruins & impressive stone culture recalls an inspired past. Although nearly 1000 years old, the monuments are arranged in a reasonably compact garden setting and their development is easier to follow. On your way back to the hotel, enjoy an elephant safari at Minneriya National Park.

After breakfast, you will be taken to the shortrest lived but the most extraordinary of all of Sri Lanka’s medieval capitals, Sigiriya (Lion Rock) was declared a world heritage site in 1982 and is now the country’s most memorable single attraction. It is commonly called the ‘Fortress in the Sky’ and is probably the most fantastic wonder of Sri Lanka. Afterwards, you will be taken to Kandy (Approx. 3 hrs). En route, you will be visiting Dambulla cave temples. The beautiful Dambulla Cave Temples is a UNESCO world heritage. It is the largest cave monastery in the country with a history going back to the 1st century BC. They are laid out as a maze of caves, of which a handful is well worth a sighting. You may also visit the Matale spice gardens and a spice garden. On arrival in Kandy, check into the hotel and spend the day at leisure.

In the afternoon, you will be sightseeing at Kandy. Kandy, is a city in the centre of Sri Lanka. It lies in the midst of hills of rare vegetal species. The Kandy Valley crosses an area of tropical plantations. The monumental ensemble of Kandy is an example of construction that associates the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Tooth. You will be visiting the Royal Botanical Gardens and the temple of the tooth. You will also be watching a cultural show there.

After breakfast in the hotel, you will be taken to the Railway station to catch the train to Hatton (Approx. 2.5 hrs). From there, you will be taken to the hotel by car (Approx. 20mins). Spend the day at leisure trekking around the area.

Spend the time sightseeing at Hatton. Hatton was one of the favourite hill stations of the British who tried to create Hatton into a typical English Village. Hatton opens up to a breathtaking panaroma of colour with beautiful gardens, cascading waterfalls, lakes and sweet smelling mountain air.

After a lazy breakfast in the hotel, drive to Galle (Approx. 7 hrs). On arrival in Galle check into the hotel and relax by the hotel or at the beach for the rest of the day.

After breakfast, take a city tour around Galle. Its rich heritage is derived from the colonial influences of the Portuguese, Dutch and the British respectively, spanning four centuries. Galle was a key harbour city for centuries, hence its value to successive colonial superpowers. The town’s centrepiece is the World Heritage listed Dutch Fort, around which the city is built. The Fort was initiated and partially constructed by the Portuguese, which was then expanded upon quite significantly by the Dutch. The Fort remains a hive of activity and is one of the few World Heritage listed sites in which a bustling population continues to thrive

After breakfast in the hotel, you will be taken to Colombo (Approx. 4 hrs). En route, visit the turtle hatchery in Kosgoda. The Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery breeds and releases five species of turtles. Eggs laid by adult females are collected by villagers and fishermen are purchased by the Kosgoda Hatchery and kept in sandy pens until they hatched, and then kept in seawater tanks and released to the sea at night. Spend the of the day at leisure. Apart from excellent shopping, Colombo offers visits to one of the worlds leading tea auctions, an 18 hole Golf Course, seasonal Buddhist and Hindu pageants, international cricket tournaments, plush casinos, enjoyable evening entertainment and excellent restaurants. State-of-the-Art communications and Cyber services are available in the hotels and other outlets. The Pettah area, which is in the heart of Colombo, is a beehive of activity. Traders and payment hawkers of all kinds flock to Colombo and it’s a well-known fact that Pettah is where the best bargains are available.
