    Chandigarh to Thanedar

    Leave Chandigarh after an early breakfast. Your journey to Thanedar is about six to seven hours. Thanedar is about 80 kms away from Shimla on the old Hindustan - Tibet road and is set at an altitude of about 2350 meters. Thanedar & its surrounds enjoy a special place in Himachal history. In 1916 Samuel Stokes, a social worker from Philadelphia brought the first apple saplings to this place he had adopted as his home. You can still see the 'Starking Delicious' apple orchard that he planted there. Overnight at the Banjara Orchard Retreat which is amist acres of apple and cherry orchards.

    Thanedar - Tani Jubbar Lake and Hattu Peak

    Start the day with a visit to the Tani Jubbar Lake (altitude of 2400m), famous for the Nag Devta (God of Snakes) temple which is built along the lake. The Hattu Peak at 3352m offers a panoramic view of the snowline of Shrikhand Mahadev mountains. You could also hike up to the Hattu peak instead of driving. Return to the lodge by the evening and enjoy the rest of the day by the bonfire.

    Thanedar to Sangla

    Drive for six hours to reach Banjara Camp & Retreat, Sangla. At a height of 2,700 mts, the Banjara Camp & Retreat is surrounded by towering mountains on all sides and is set on the banks of the Baspa River. Walks tthrough the valley, treks to view snow covered Himalayan peaks, angling for trout, experiencing some of the local culture and traditions, rock climbing, rappelling and river crossing are only some of the delights that are on offer. Relax in the hammocks and enjoy the sounds of the river while you are Sangla.

    Sangla

    Try your hand at trout fishing, rock climbing, rappelling or river crossing. You could also go for a short walk in the surrounding hills or do a beautiful 4 hr walk along the Baspa River to Rakcham village. The signature- walk of the valley.

    Sangla - A visit to Chitkul Village

    Today you visit the lovely little Chitkul village. This is the last village on the old Indo-Tibetan trade route. From here, you can hike to Nagasthi, the last border outpost that civilians are allowed to enter. The walk itself is lovely and takes you along a stream. Have lunch enjoying the view alongside the glacier fed mountain stream.

    Sangla to Sojha

    After breakfast, Drive for seven hours to reach Sojha. In summer, the Silver Oak forest along the road is full of blue Iris. This is a very picturesque drive and takes you through some of the lesser known regions of Himachal Pradesh. Cross over the Jalori pass and into Sojha village (2700M). Sojha is a small village at about 5 kms from the Jalori Pass that links the Shimla and Kullu districts. Sojha, located in Seraj Valley is known for its pristine and verdant forests which are densely populated with conifers and deodars. This is a nature lovers paradise and you should treat yourself to a walk in the meadows and the forest nearby.

    Shojha - Visit the Serolser Lake

    Go on a 12 km hike to the beautiful Serolser lake. The trail will take you through thick Oak forests. Have your lunch near the crystal clear waters of the Lake. Return to the lodge and spend the evening around a bonfire.

    Sojha to Chandigarh

    After Breakfast, drive back to Chandigarh via Mandi and Bilaspur.
